Fits Up To 97 GM 350/454 Raw water cooled, Ford closed cooling old By-Pass Style. The tall thermostat almost 3" center portion is open and the outer barrel moves down to open. The old 145 degree is now replaced by the 170.
THERMOSTATS can fail and should be tested or replaced if questionable. The type of thermostat used is important. The only type of thermostat that will function properly is an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) quality replacement!
NOTE: A handfull of engines with One Piece Heat Exchanger's use the regular R026002 thermostat.
