As far referencing which side is what part number the port manifold will be the odd bank so cylinders 1,3,5,7 you can also have some one stand facing the engine with the v drive or transmission between your legs and the one on your left would be the port manifold. So port is always the left hand manifold when you are facing the bell housing end of the engine no matter how it is positioned in the boat.
